Florence M. Lambert, age 86, of Green Bay, went to Heaven surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
Florence was born on April 24, 1937 to the late Frank and Anna (Pansch) Verstoppen. She was the 11th child of a family of 12.
Florence grew up in Suamico and attended Pulaski High School. On October 9, 1954 she married Richard Lambert and together they had five children. They were happily married for 45 years.
Florence worked at Green Bay Foods Co. for 38 years retiring in 1998. After retirement she moved to Florida for 14 years and later moved back to Green Bay to be closer to her family. Florence enjoyed baking, playing cards, going to the casino and traveling. She was also an avid Packers fan and even attended Super Bowl XLV in Dallas in 2011. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. She loved having her family all together.
Florence is survived by her children Linda (Jerry) Oryall, Dennis “Choppers” Lambert (Diane), Janice (Ken) Vandevelde, Julie (Tim) Barlament, Lori (Tim) Pallock; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; one brother-in-law Roy Haen; one sister-in-law Joyce Verstoppen; and special extended family Cal Jr. (Teri) Swisher and Cheri Lambert. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Richard Lambert, special companion of 14 years Calvin Swisher of Florida, one son-in-law Phillip “Sonny” McLeod, sisters Viola Andrews, Ruth Carriveau, Shirley Haen, Patty Schultz, two infant sisters, brothers Raymond Verstoppen, Willard Verstoppen, Lester Verstoppen, Vernon Verstoppen, two infant brothers, sisters-in-law Edith Verstoppen, Bonnie Verstoppen, Norma Verstoppen, brothers-in-law Oliver Andrews, Bob Carriveau and Don Schultz.
A funeral mass will be held for Florence on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., Howard, with Father Jim Lucas officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Entombment will take place at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum at a later date.
