Friedrich "Fred" Harrsch Obituary

Friedrich “Fred” Harrsch, age 81, of Green Bay, WI, passed away at home on Sunday, January 9, 2022, with family and his beloved dog, Packer, at his side while watching a Packer game.  He was born April 27, 1940, in Morristown, N.J., son of the late Luitpold and Luise (Grau) Harrsch.
Fred was an avid Packer fan since 1951.  He loved the town, the people and most important the Pack.  That’s why he moved to Green Bay.  He kept the tradition of painting the “original” Packer Fence on Lombardi Avenue to honor packer players, coaches, and the team. Fence painting was always Fred’s favorite day of the year.  He enjoyed his daily walks to “Skip’s Diner” on Holmgren Way for breakfast with friends.  Then on the way home he stopped at Stadium View and socialized with Jerry Watson, Jodi, and Marcia.  Fred especially cherished tailgate parties at home with many Packer fans. He had been employed at Warner Lambert in Morris Plains, N.J. for 40 years as a systems analyst where he formed many endearing relationships.
He is survived by his sister-in-law and caregiver: Dorothy (Dotty) Harrsch, Green Bay; nephew: Louis Harrsch Jr. and wife Kristen; nephew: Peter Harrsch; great-niece: Emery Ann Harrsch; the Harrsch families in New Jersey; and his dear friends and neighbors: Bruce and Nancy Kiel and family, Jim and Holly Pecard and family, Dale and Sandy Seifert, Roger and Debbie Wertel, Jodi and Marcia from Stadium View, Betty Falk, and Sue Zenzig.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents: Luitpold and Luise Harrsch and brother: Louis Harrsch, Sr.

The family will celebrate Fred’s life, Labor Day 2022, with a fence painting ceremony in his honor.  All family and friends are welcome.
