George Parker Obituary

George Albert Parker, 87, of Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Woodside Lutheran Home.

George was born on December 15, 1936 in Marinette to the late Albert Obar Parker and Erna Pauline (Schulz) Parker. On October 15, 1960 he married Marian Ruth Mose in Minneapolis, they were married for 63 wonderful years.

After serving our country in the US Army from 1958 to 1960 he began his work life as a welder and progressed to being an electrician and electrical contractor. He and Marian owned and operated Stiegler Electric for 23 years.

George was involved in numerous community affairs some of which are:  Associated Builders and Contractors for over 20 years, serving as president for 2 terms; Electrical Examining Board of Green Bay for 28 years; Green Bay Chamber of Commerce for 12 years; SCORE for 11 years; and Rotary International

George loved living his life to serve God. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He believed in honesty in all things. He was a sincere friend, he worked hard and was always loyal to the USA. Having a good name among men and trying to be a help to everyone he met was who he was at his core. His proudest moments were his wedding and the births of his children and grandchildren.

Hunting and fishing (especially stream trout fishing) were his favorite hobbies. He had many wonderful memories of hunting and fishing trips with good friends. His frequent travels with Marian were great life experiences and nothing beat wintering in Hawaii.

George loved to laugh and never met a stranger. His breakfast club friends quickly became a highlight in his life; they filled him with spirituality, laughter and peace of mankind.

He will be greatly missed by his children Evan Parker (Marilyn) of Green Bay and Melanie Naef (Ken) of Green Bay, and his four beautiful granddaughters, Amber, Megan, Ava and Molly along with his sister Emmogene Schneider (Tom) of Minneapolis, and many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his grandson, Adam Joseph Naef and his sisters Margaret Rastal, Fern Renee, and Faye Larson.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Woodside Lutheran Home and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care and kindness with a special nod to Jen, Joy, Vianney, Carol, Paige, and Terry.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Lyndahl Funeral Home in Green Bay followed by a private entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
