Gerald "Jerry" Kloes Obituary

On May 8th, 2025 Jesus welcomed Gerald (Jerry) Ivan Kloes, 87, in His arms to his heavenly home, surrounded by family. Leaving behind a legacy of unwavering love, deep faith, and joyful laughter. A devoted husband to the love of his life, Suzanne, Jerry was the heart of his family – a man whose strength, kindness, and quick wit touched everyone who knew him.

He had an unshakeable belief in Jesus Christ, Jerry led by example, grounding his life in service, humility, and grace. His faith was the foundation of his generous spirit and guided him in all he did – from raising a close-knit family to offering a kind word and a warm smile to strangers.

Jerry had a rare gift of making anyone feel welcome. Whether you knew him for years or had just met him, he had a way of making you laugh and feel like you belonged. His sense of humor was legendary – witty, light-hearted, and often exactly what was needed.

A master of card games, lifelong fan of the Packers and Chicago Cubs (including a honeymoon trip to Wrigley). Jerry had a zest for the simple joys of life. Game nights with family and friends were never complete without his competitive spirit and the unmistakable sound of laughter filling the room.

Above all, Jerry was a family man – devoted, selfless, and deeply loving. He leaves behind his wife Suzanne; sons: Tom (Jen), Ken (Tammy), Craig (Jenny), and Chuck (Lisa); 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and brother Arnie. His legacy lives on through his faith in Christ and the love he so freely gave.

He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. “Love the people that God gives you, one day He’ll want them back” (Legacy 5).

A memorial service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:00 am at Highland Crest Baptist Church, 1830 South Military Ave. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 10:00 am.
