On Thursday, June 23, 2022, Geraldine Mae Diedrick, age 94, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Gerry was born on May 21, 1928, in Denmark, Wisconsin, and raised on a dairy farm by her parents, Anton and Lena (Deffke) Johnsen. She was a graduate of Luxemburg High School Class of 1945. On July 16, 1949, she married Kenneth Diedrick. Together, Ken and Gerry were blessed with five wonderful children.
Gerry worked in many retail stores and ended her working career at the White Store. Gerry loved going up to the Diedrick cabin in Amberg, playing cards, horseshoes, and sitting around the bonfire. Ken and Gerry enjoyed a lot of fun times with friends and family. They especially loved traveling. One of Gerry's favorite memories was the trip she and Ken took to Hawaii to visit their son stationed there in the Navy.
She is survived by her children: Donald (Renate), Daniel (Melonie), Dale (Kathy), Dean (Gail), and Dyan (Jeff) Whitney. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Rebecca, Micaela, Tricia, Tom, Malorie, Trevor, Loni, Jarrett, Brock, David, Carolyn, Adam, Alexandra and Philip, as well as 14 great grandchildren, with two more due this fall.
Gerry is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings: Marvin, Floraine, and Alden. She is also preceded in death by her father and mother in-law: Francis and Ella Diedrick.
Gerry was a warm, caring, compassionate woman who welcomed all into her life. She was upbeat, positive, fun-loving, and always had good things to say about others. She will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Lyndahl Funeral Home and Cremation Services (1350 Lombardi Avenue), Green Bay. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Michael Hennig. Burial will take place at Moravian Cemetery, Green Bay at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 7:00 p.m.
