Gordon Eugene Ellis

Gordon Eugene Ellis, 75, of Green Bay passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center.

Gordon was born on April 19, 1948 in Baraboo, WI to Riley and Alberta (Harms) Ellis. Gordon was a graduate of Marshall High School. He furthered his education and obtained his Bachelor’s degree from UW-Madison, Masters Degree from UW-Oshkosh and had attended UW-Milwaukee in the Doctorate Program. Gordon served his country in the Wisconsin Air National Guard. On October 7, 1989, he married the former Marie Knutson. Over the years, Gordon worked for the City of Oshkosh, NWTC, City of Lake Geneva, Shawano County, Douglas County, and retired in 2012 as the Village Administrator for the Village of Denmark.

Gordon was a generous and giving man, and a loving and caring husband, father and grandpa. He was a private person and had a sense of humor that only his family could appreciate. Gordon enjoyed fishing, gardening, trips to FL, and he was always ready for an adventure.

Gordon is survived by his wife: Marie; children: Michelle (Rob) Ellis-Hutchings, Chris (Aldy) Ellis, Kym (Pat) Rosner, and Chad Strozewski; grandchildren: Caleb and Grace Ellis-Hutchings, Dylan and Derek “Gwen” Strozewski, Brooke Kretsch, and Grant Rosner; and brothers and sisters: William (Jan) Ellis, Karen (Gary) Harrington, Donna Jensen, Sue Benisch, Terri (Rick) Fisch, and Brian (Terri) Ellis. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents: Riley and Alberta Ellis; and one brother: Charles Ellis.

A Celebration of Life to honor Gordon’s life will be held at a later date.
