Harry E. Bacon, Jr, age 86 of Naples, FL and Green Bay, WI passed away on October 19, 2023, of complications from cancer. He was born June 13, 1937, to the late Harry and Althea (Perot) Bacon Sr. in Philadelphia, PA. He attended Valley Forge Military Academy in high school, received a business degree from Ursinus College, PA, and a Masters degree from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. Bob was very proud of his service in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division. He worked in Human Resources for FMC Corporation in various locations across the country, retiring in 2002.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dianne R. Bacon, daughter Alison R Kessel (Mike); son Harry E. Bacon III “Tripp” (Leslie); daughter Christina P Conrad (Chuck). He loved spending time with his seven grandchildren Presley, Madison, and Sawyer Conrad; Ella and Madeline Kessel; and Andrew and Lila Bacon. His sister, Andrea Holding predeceased him.
Bob was a kind and loving gentleman with a quick wit who deeply loved and valued his family and friends. He was very involved with his children’s activities, especially soccer, helping in the development of women’s soccer in the Green Bay area. In retirement he enjoyed golfing, attending grandkids’ events and had a passion for the stock market. Bob enjoyed volunteering as an usher for the Naples Players Theatre as well as volunteering at the Collier Country Domestic Animal shelter.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mackinaws Grill & Spirits, 2925 Voyager Dr., Green Bay on Wednesday, November 22, visitation will occur from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Full Military Honors will be performed at Mackinaws on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to St. Matthews House, Naples, FL or Paul’s Pantry, Green Bay, WI.
