Helen M. Gunther, age 98, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019. She was born September 5, 1920, to the late Herbert and Grace (Kirberg) Loomis in Waukesha, Wisconsin. On September 14, 1946, she married Walter J. Gunther in Waukesha. Helen was a member of several Women’s Clubs in Cedarburg and supported the local humane societies. She enjoyed reading, shelling, completing crossword puzzles and Rummikub.
Survivors include her children, Timothy Scott Gunther (Susan) and Janis Mary Olson (Rick); two grandchildren, Erika Lee Schroeder (John) and Christian Robert Olson (Jill); three great-grandchildren, Cameron James Olson, Braydon Richard Olson and Everett John Olson; one sister, Carol Putnam; and many other family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Walter James Gunther, she is preceded in death by her stepmother, Laudra Loomis; her son, Thomas James Gunther; and two siblings, Hubert Loomis and Norman Loomis; and her niece, Anita Putnam.
Visitation for Helen will be held at the Woodside Lutheran Home Chapel, 1040 Pilgrim Way, on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, from 9:00 am until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 am with Rev. Steve Apfel officiating. Expressions of sympathy, memories and photos may be shared with Helen’s family on her tribute page.
