Helen Bowman Robinette
Helen Robinette passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at age 89. She was born on September 2, 1932, in Hastings, Michigan to Keith and Pauline (Smith) Bowman. She studied Home Economics at Michigan State University.
Helen married Dr. Burke Robinette in Grand Rapids, Michigan on July 30, 1955. They were married for over 65 years and enjoyed a wonderful life together with their families and friends never far away. Helen worked alongside Burke in his veterinary practice in Coleman, Wisconsin. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and “Ama” to her grandchildren. Helen was an expert seamstress, cook and homemaker. She loved to entertain and often had a kitchen full of friends and family. Helen and Burke visited many countries on six continents and enjoyed 27 winters at South Padre Island, Texas. They moved to Green Bay in 2013 after 57 years in the same house in Coleman.
Helen held many positions in the organizations in which she was involved. These included the United Methodist Church at Lena and Oconto Falls, The Civil Service Commission of Marinette County, the Coleman School Board, and the Wisconsin Veterinary Association Auxiliary. She was a founding member of the Daughters of the Nile in Green Bay and was a member of the Eastern Star.
Helen is survived by her three daughters: Susan (Mark) Schaenzer, Janet (Joseph) Leuman and Barbara (Jeffrey) Lauscher; her seven grandchildren: Dr. Sara (Brittany Russell) and John Schaenzer, Joseph and Anne Leuman, Brian (Florian), Matthew and Andrea Lauscher; her great-granddaughter: Eliana Schaenzer Russell; her sister: June (Charley) Stokoe, her brothers: Michael and Galen Bowman; her sisters-in-law: Ethel Bowman and Janet Bennet; and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were Burke; her parents; her brothers: Austin and Walter Bowman; her brothers-in-law: James Robinette and Richard Bennett; and her sisters-in-law: Evelyn Bowman and Bethel Robinette.
A service will be held on Tuesday, May 31 at the Fort Howard Memorial Park Chapel at 10:30 am.
