Helmer E. Hanson

Helmer E. Hanson, 95, went to his eternal reward Sunday, September 4, 2022. Helmer was born August 17, 1927, to Albert and Mabel Hanson. He was married to Virginia Carstens for 72 years, before her death in 2020. Helmer served in the United States Air Force in World War II and was able to participate in an Old Glory Honor Flight in 2016. He was also part of the Ashwaubenon VFW #1024. Helmer retired from WPS in 1989 after forty plus years.

Helmer was blessed to be a father of five children: Dianne Fournier (spouse Steve), Bonnie Vann (spouse Ed), Nancy VandenHeuvel, Kevin Hanson (wife Kim), and Terry Hanson (wife Julie); he had twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Each family member cherishes heartfelt memories.

Helmer was preceded in death by his wife: Virginia "Ginny" Hanson; daughter: Dianne Fournier; and granddaughter: Nicki Larsen.

A memorial Service is planned for Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 South Broadway, Green Bay, WI. Visitation from 9:30am-11:00am, with Service at 11:00am, with Pastor Rachel Knoke officiating.
