It is with great sadness that the family of Ione Heupel announce her passing on April 20, 2021. She was born August 30, 1936 to the late Vida and George Van Dyck from De Pere, WI. As a young girl, Ione worked for the Telephone Company where she met Jack, the love of her life. They married on April 26, 1958 and were happily married for 49 years until Jack’s passing in 2007. Her husband and family were the most important things in her life. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and especially a grandmother. Jack and Ione traveled throughout the U.S. in an RV and on tours throughout the world. They made new friends along the way, but always came back to their friends at home. “The Bunch” was a bond of friendships that lasted throughout their lives.
Ione will be sadly missed by her five children, Cheryl (Scott) Simpson of Green Bay, Don (Paula) Heupel of Germantown, Mark Heupel (Linda) of Lakewood, Christine Heupel of Green Bay, Lynn Heupel (Jeff Augustine) of Pulaski; She was blessed with five grandchildren, Weston, Mason (Tessa), Mitchell, Haley, and Madeline. Ione is further survived by her sister-in-law, Mary and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Leland and granddaughter, Caryn.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Drive, from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
