Irene Mary Straub, 98, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, April 9, 2021 and is now with the Lord in Heaven surrounded by family and friends.
Irene was born on June 14, 1922 to Steve and Mary (Nowak) Cichocki on the family farm in Thorpe Wisconsin. and grew up with seven sisters, Helen, Sally, Stella, Evelyn, Beatrice, Alma, and Ruthie, and four brothers, Art, Bernie, Harry, and Ted. Sadly, her brother Johnny passed away shortly after birth.
She married Kenneth John Straub on September 22, 1945 together they raised three children, Clifford, JoAnn, and Robert.
Irene loved to go fishing. She also enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, going up north, working in the garden, baking pies and cookies, meeting people, and going to church. She was a member of New Life church in Pulaski. She had a special place in her heart for all animals, birds, and butterflies, she called them her “babies”.
She is survived by her three children, five grandchildren, Holly (preceded in death) Shawn, Cameron, Joshua, and Trevor. Two Great grandchildren, Heath, and Emma.
Irene will be greatly missed, especially her sweet charm and spunky-ness, but we rejoice in happiness for her memories, and knowing that she is in Heaven with our Lord, and her departed family and friends.
Per Irene’s wishes there has been a private family service. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos maybe shared with Irene’s family on her tribute page at www.lyndahl.com
