Jacob Jerome Erickson, Sr., a loving husband, father, and grandfather, found peace on July 14, 2022 surrounded by family.
He was born November 19, 1936, in Oneida to Haldor and Molly (Hock) Erickson with the help of Dr. Hill. He was the youngest of 9 children. He entered the US Coast Guard in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1960. He served 4 years on the Great Lakes. Jacob married Lynn Helen Morgan on December 3, 1960. Together they farmed in the Town of Pittsfield where they raised 6 children. He worked for KI and retired from there in 2005. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
While retired he helped to start the fishing program at Aspiro and volunteered with the program for many years. He enjoyed the many smiles and excitement of the clients when they caught a fish! He also enjoyed camping with the family in the Nicolet National Forest, camping in the back yard, and campfires. He preferred to sleep in his tent in the apple orchard during the summer. Picking rocks and husking corn were his way of bringing his family together. He also enjoyed snowshoeing, berry picking, and spending time with his dogs and other animals.
He is survived by his children Jacob Erickson, Jr., Allouez; Elizabeth (Mark) Lawler, Sobieski; Sarah J.(significant other Lyle Soquet) Erickson, Pulaski; Susanna (Ron) Sturm, Gillett; James (Sarah K.)
