James Miller Obituary

James Miller, age 86, of Ashwaubenon passed away on May 26, 2022 at his residence.  He was born on December 7, 1935 in Cleveland, WI to the late Edwin and Mabel (Brost) Miller.  After attending Mishicot High School he moved to Green Bay where he met and fell in love with Patty Olsen.  They were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Green Bay on April 30, 1955 and celebrated 67 years together.

Jim was employed at Al Doney Construction Company for the first 10 years of their marriage.  He was very proud that at the young age of 20, he built their first home.  Jim also constructed homes for other people in his “spare time”.  For the next 28 years, Jim worked for the H.J. Martin Company and later was employed for many years at Perrot Homes until his retirement.  He also helped Patty with her Cub Scouts teaching them to make useful crafts.

Jim was an avid Packer fan and attended the famous Ice Bowl Game.  He also enjoyed many years of going on bus trips and flying to Las Vegas with his brother John’s group from The Bar.  Jim and Patty  enjoyed many cruises.  He also enjoyed snowmobiling, golf and playing Black Jack, especially when he won.  Jim’s favorite holiday was Christmas and he enjoyed it when the whole family came home for the holiday.  It was a special time when he handed out the money envelopes and watched the big smiles on their faces.  Jim is a member of the Moose Lodge #801 of Ashwaubenon.

Jim is survived by his five wonderful children of who he was very proud:  Jimmy, Kathy Hermsen, Jeff, Vicky Stebbins (special companion David Juley), Joe (fiancé Robin); his grandchildren:  Jessica (Jay) Schwartz, Christopher Draper; his great grandchildren:  Hope, Brandon and Emalee Dachelet,  Anthony and Jacob Schwartz, Chris Jr. and MaKenna Draper; his brother:  John (Clare) Miller; his brother-in-law:  Tom Olsen; his sister-in-law:  Bonnie (Bob) King; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patty, his brothers Bob, Jerry and Dick Miller, his mother and father-in-law Harvey & Frances Olsen, his sons-in-law Bill Stebbins and John Hermsen.
