James "Jim" Donald Grabinski

James D. Grabinski, 67, of La Crosse, WI, passed away peacefully on December 17th at his home, surrounded by family, after a very short, but courageous battle with cancer.

Jim was born in San Rafael, CA on March 1st, 1954, to Donald and Sally Grabinski. Jim loved spending his time with his family, fishing, hunting, and checking out the best casinos.

In 1973, Jim began his 45-year career with Material Service, where he worked his way up to be the captain of his barge. He was very proud of his work and worked incredibly hard to provide a wonderful home for his family. He happily retired on August 29th, 2018.

On June 18th, 1983, Jim married the love of his life, Holly Loosmore. They later welcomed three children, Ashley, Jessica, and Jeffrey. Jim and Holly were each other’s lifelong companions. Jim was a teddy bear who loved with his whole heart.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife: Holly Grabinski; his children: Ashley Grabinski of Sauk Rapids, MN, Jessica (Ryan) Lowrey of La Crosse, WI and Jeffrey Grabinski of Green Bay, WI; his three grandchildren: JayShaun, Ayvah and Evan; his brother Dale; his sister Sherry; aunts, uncles and many beloved friends and extended family.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents: Don and Sally; his uncle: Frank; his aunt: Marilyn; his grandparents; and many more extended family.

Always in our hearts.

A memorial service will take place at a later date.
