Janet S. Farr, age 87 of Green Bay passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Silverstone Memory Care, Grand Chute.
Janet was born February 27, 1937 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Emanuel “Monnie” and Romay (Kahler) Calawerts. She was a graduate of Green Bay West High School with the Class of 1955. On September 19, 1959, she married John R. Farr, Sr. in Green Bay. Together they lived and raised their family in Green Bay and Cedarburg. He preceded her in death on August 12, 2024.
Janet cherished time with family and friends, loved gardening, supporting and attending her grandchildren’s activities, the annual summer trip with family to Copps Cabin in Northern Wisconsin, spending time with friends at the Moose Lodge, monthly gatherings with high school friends and lifelong friends from Cedarburg and Green Bay.
Janet is survived by her sons: John (Teresa) Farr Jr. and Brian (Sherry) Farr; daughters: Laurie Kiffel and Sharon Farr; seven grandchildren: Michelle (David) Leiting, Matthew Farr, Ryan (Julia) Farr, Andrew (Beth) Farr, Megan (Andrew) Toivonen, Tyler Farr, and John Kiffel; one great-grandchild: Harper Leiting; sister: Carol (Don) Podraza. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Farr, Sr., grandson: Eric Farr; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Edward and Ruth (Reilly) Farr.
A funeral service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 South Madison St., with Rev. Doug Holtz officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Janet will be laid to rest next to her husband John at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
