Jean Spieker Obituary

Jean Spieker, 89, Green Bay, passed away early Sunday morning July 11, 2021. She was born March 15, 1932 in Grantham, England to Maude and George Elstone. Jean and her twin were the youngest of 13 in their family.

She moved to the US after falling in love with an American soldier during WW 2 and was married October 19, 1955 in Adel, Wisconsin. She lived in Sheboygan Falls for many years while raising her two children, Karen and Kevin, before moving to Green Bay. In Green Bay, Jean worked at the pickle factory, then become a cook for the Green Bay School District where she worked for 20 years. She helped clean the Packer’s offices for over a decade before retiring.

In her spare time Jean enjoyed crafting, knitting and making her famous mincemeat pies. She loved dancing and you would occasionally catch her on the dance floor doing the jitterbug with her sister, Mabel. Jean also enjoyed her weekly Friday Fish Frys and game nights with her friends. You could also always count on her to share a cup of tea and catch you up on the newest episode of Shark Tank or Law & Order: SVU.

She is survived by her daughter Karen (Bill) Hervas, her son Kevin (Vicki G) Spieker, her granddaughters Sarah (Matt) Childress and Jennifer (Blake) Hall, her great-grandkids, Stella, Matthew, Moira and William, her sister Mabel Millis and many nieces and nephews and family friends.

She is proceeded in death by her mother Maude, father George and 11 of her 12 siblings.
