Jerry William Erdmann, age 84, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Rennes Health & Rehab Center.
Jerry was born on April 16, 1941 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Elmer and Rose (Bellin) Erdmann. Jerry was one of six children. Alongside his siblings Joan, Jack, Jim, Judy, and Joe the family owned and managed The Erdmann’s Grocery Store on West Mason Street in Green Bay. The store was a central part of his upbringing, where he spent many hours sweeping the floor, stocking the shelfs and making local deliveries. The store was well known among the neighborhood children for their penny candy.
Jerry graduated from Premontre High School, Class of 1959. While in high school, he was active in various activities including ROTC. After graduation Jerry joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
On December 10, 1977, Jerry married the love of his life, Sherry (Brennan). Together, they built a loving home and raised five children. His children were his greatest pride. He was a man of strong faith and an example to those around him.
He found great joy in fishing for perch on the bay, deer hunting in the north woods and playing cribbage with family and friends. Jerry was an excellent cook. If you stopped by the Erdmann house there was a good chance there would be a kettle of “hot chili” ready for you.
Jerry had a strong work ethic and dedicated over 30 years of his career to FMC Corporation, where he worked as a computer programmer and engineer.
Following his retirement, Jerry volunteered with the Ashwaubenon Retired Firemen 213. Jerry cherished time spent with friends and neighbors, relaxing on the patio with an adult beverage and his dog Bentley.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry; his children, Jay Brennan (Kim Dewitt), Craig (Debbie) Brennan, Melissa (Joe) Leiterman, Eric (Elizabeth) Erdmann; and his cherished grandchildren, Josh, Kara, Justin, Sophia, Emelia, Eli, Eben, Lyric, Emmett, and six great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother Jim (Dottie) Erdmann, brother Joseph Erdmann, and twin sister Sr. Mariella (Judy) Erdmann.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Rose Erdmann; his daughter, Brooke Erdmann; his sister Sr. Joan Erdmann; his brother and sister-in-law Jack and Ester Erdmann; his sister-in-law Linda Erdmann; his brother-in-law Rod Robien; and his nieces Martha Erdmann and Casey LaViolette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Parish in Green Bay, with Rev. Don Everts officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Howard Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
