Joan A. Woolley, age 92, of Green Bay, WI passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022, after a short stay at Woodside Lutheran Home.
Joan was born April 19, 1930, in Wausau, WI, daughter of the late Frank and Amalia (Henningfeld) Heinrichs and youngest of nine siblings. She was united in marriage to Joseph L. Woolley on September 15, 1951, in Wausau, WI. He preceded her and their two daughters in death on March 7, 1996.
Joan worked in reception at Channel 5 NBC in Green Bay, WI. She was most passionate about her many years of volunteer work with the Special Olympics, Children’s Hospital, and the Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed classical music, Scrabble, playing cards and singing with her family, reading, the Packers, online shopping, drinking champagne, and flamingos.
Joan is survived by daughters Leigh Dennis and Eileen Brooker, son-in-law Joel, granddaughter Emily, two grandsons Andrey and Ben, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents Frank and Amalia Heinrichs, four brothers, four sisters, husband Joseph Woolley, and grandson Christofer Dennis.
Joan was witty, smart, strong, hilarious, and feisty woman who led a full life and left an impression on everyone she met. She was thoughtful, caring, and had an enormous heart who would do anything for her family and friends. Joan was a one-of-a-kind woman who will be deeply missed by many, but left her family and loved ones with countless special memories.
