Joanne Mary (Zellner) Fletcher passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023. Joanne was born on August 24, 1932 to Felix and Gladys Zellner in Green Bay. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1950. On September 6, 1952 she married Edward Fletcher at St. Philips Catholic Church. Edward preceded her in death on June 3, 2019 after celebrating 66 years together. Joanne was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church for many years.
She had many working endeavors beginning with the telephone company in Green Bay before heading to Texas where our dad was stationed in the US Air Force. There she found a job on the military base which she thoroughly enjoyed. While raising her family in Green Bay she had part time jobs at Robert Hall, Edie’s Fashions and NWTC. Her final “gig” was a volunteer job at St Mary’s Hospital in medical records.
Our mom was the “glue” of the family and cherished the time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Growing up we enjoyed the annual Door County cottage rental and times at the beach. Mom also enjoyed the “solo” trips with us to Milwaukee and Wisconsin Dells as Dad wasn’t too fond of road trips.
Christmas Eve celebrations at Mom and Dad’s house were a memorable tradition and enjoyed by three generations. Mom was a wonderful cook, baker and passed on many recipes to us.
Joanne and Edward enjoyed yearly monthlong vacations to Hawaii which spanned over 30+ years. They were fortunate to make friendships that lasted a lifetime. They loved the hustle and bustle of Honolulu, the warm sun and the beach.
Joanne is survived by her daughters: Jeanne (Tom) Beaupre, Kim (Ken) Lenss, her sons; Craig (Monica) Fletcher, Jon (Carrie) Fletcher. Her grandchildren Rob (Tiffany) Coad, Adam (Amanda) Coad, Keri (Jason) Techlin, Joshua (Corrie) Fletcher, Kelly Lenss, Dylan (Melanie) Fletcher, Erika Fletcher (Josh), Sean O’Connor, Ryan (Rylee) O’Connor and Erin (Dan) Wall. Joanne is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her parents Felix and Gladys Zellner, her sister Betty Panure and brother Jerry Zellner, brother-in-law Richard Panure, sister-in-law Betty Lou Zellner and extended family and friends.
