Joanne Patricia Zank

Joanne P. Zank, age 90, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Grancare Nursing Center.  She was born on March 11, 1932, to Allen and Violet (Etta) Dermody in Milwaukee, WI.  She graduated from Wauwatosa High School with the class of 1949.  On July 4, 1953, she married Marvin Zank. Together they shared 61 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2015.  Joanne was a dedicated homemaker and pastor’s wife. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and friends.

Survivors include seven children: Steven (Talora) Zank, Katherine (Jim) Shaw, Karen (Tom) Behnke, Elizabeth (Dave) Kapfhamer, Jane Zank, Richard (Chrystal) Zank and Lisa (Cory) Tisch; ten grandchildren: Jered (Heather) Shaw, Elissa Shaw, Erin (Derek) Bunten, Erica (Bill) Marty, Hannah Behnke, Andrew Behnke, Joshua (Kristi) Kapfhamer, Alyssa (Nick) Prince, Joshua (Andrea) Zank and Eric Zank; sixteen great grandchildren: Anais, Henry and Aiden Shaw, Clara and Silas Bunten, Owen, Noelle and Violet Marty; Amelia and Charlotte Kapfhamer, Brinley and Caleb Prince, Addison and Parker Zank, Kason and Krew Zank. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother William Dermody.

A funeral service will be held Monday, February 20, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 2160 Packerland Dr., Green Bay. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am until the time of service. Burial will take place in Beaver Dam at a later date.

The family would like to thank the dedicated and caring staff at Grancare who took such kind and loving care of dad and mom, and Bristol Hospice, Dr. Robert Mead and his Nurse Practitioner Paula Ferron.
