Joel Russell Westerfeld

Joel Westerfeld, age 56, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday October 29th, 2023. He was born on June 17th, 1967, in Green Bay to the late Rodney and Judith (Houren) Westerfeld. He attended Green Bay West High School and graduated with the class of 1985. He married Tammy Hodgins on June 23, 1990, in Green Bay. Joel owned and operated Westerfeld Construction from 1993 until the present.

Joel enjoyed hunting up north, being with friends and family, sudoku puzzles, bar crawls and golfing. He was always there to lend a helping hand and enjoyed working at the shop. His motto was " if the garage door is open, you are always welcome. 

He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Tammy; his daughter: Morgan Lee Westerfeld (fiancée Nathan Bopray); brother: Scott Westerfeld; mother-in-law: Darlene Hodgins; relatives: Perry (Linda) Bresemann, Jon (Kari) Bresemann, Brian (Stephanie) Bresemann, Robin (Bill) Jolly, Brian (Jonelle) Jolly, Kevin Jolly, Chad Hodgins (Patty), Tina Cappelle and Adam Cappelle. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law: Sterling Hodgins. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 S. Oneida St, Green Bay from 9:00 am until the memorial service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Paul Pett officiating. In respect of Joel's wishes his family asks that visitors wear camouflage or neon yellow apparel.
