John K. Knope

John Knope, age 73, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at home.

John graduated from West De Pere High School and graduated with the class of 1968.  He worked at U.S. Paper/Sonoco Paper Mill until his retirement in 2019 after 49 years. 

He and his wife Connie just celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on June 24th and his 73rd birthday on June 25th.

Preceding him in death were his parents: Shirley and Ervin; his brothers: Mark and Paul; and his mother and father-in-law: Dora and Art Forsythe.

He is survived by his wife Connie; two daughters: Misti (Chad) Wauters and their children, and Andrea Knope and her children.

John enjoyed hunting and fishing with family during his youth. During his retirement, he began sewing and crocheting various items for family, friends, and those in need. John loved a good fish fry and a Packer Game. He will be missed as the Papa Bear of the family.

We love you and will hold you in our hearts forever – Charmin, Kitty, and Bunk.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday July 5, 2023 at 7:00 pm at Lyndahl Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, with Fr. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Visitation will occur from 5:00pm until the time of service.
