Joseph Paradise Obituary

Joseph Howard Paradise, 89, of Hobart, Wisconsin entered eternal life on Thursday, October 26, 2023 ending a brief hospital stay. Joe was born in Ahnapee, Wisconsin on September 23, 1934 to the late Lawrence and Mary Paradise.  On December 28, 1957, Joe married Caroline Stoller at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Algoma, Wisconsin.

Earlier that year, Joe enlisted in the Army in 1957 and was proud of his 5 years served in the artillery division.  He also started a family at this time in Algoma, WI while working at a sawmill.  Joe later started Paradise Heating in 1970, which he successfully operated for 50+ years.  Additionally, he partnered with his wife Carol to design, build, and oversee several residential and commercial properties.  Just to ensure he kept busy, Joe then drew on his roots in farming and found time to raise beef cattle on Acorn Drive in Oneida, WI.

Joe had a spirit of adventure combined with an infectious personality that made all feel welcome around him. While his priorities were always focused on being with his family, as an avid outdoorsman, you could find Joe fishing on Shawano Lake or spending quality time enjoying the beauty of nature while hunting and bird watching in Stiles, WI.

Beloved husband of Carol Paradise for 55 years until her passing on January 8, 2013, Joe was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.  Joe was a wonderful father to Theresa (Dale) Daul of Green Bay, WI; Deborah (Douglas) Applequist of Waukesha, WI; Lori (Thomas) Spiering of Green Bay, WI; Scott (Sherry) Paradise of Stillwater, MN.  He was also a loving grandpa of Ashley (Rick) Callier of Harlingen, TX; Amanda Applequist of Mc Farland, WI; Weston (Beth) Spiering of Combined Locks, WI; Mackenzie Spiering of St. Louis Park, MN; Brandon Paradise of Duluth, MN; Bailey Paradise of Duluth, MN and a proud great grandpa of Annalise and Avalynn Callier of Harlingen, TX and Liam and Noah Spiering of Combined Locks, WI.  Joe is further survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Joe’s quick wit and sparkling eyes will be deeply missed by the many people whose lives he has touched.
