Joe was born August 6,1930 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, son of the late Theodore & Philomena (Schuh) Leisgang.  He grew up on a farm in rural Seymour, Wisconsin.  There he learned to work hard, help his neighbors and enjoy the outdoors. Joe was a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and was awarded the “Knights of the Blind” for serving as an eye tissue transporter. He also earned several Lions International awards. Joe and Audrey also enjoyed traveling to Lion’s Club meetings.

Joe was a dedicated volunteer who generously contributed his time and talents to numerous causes and organizations including the Red Cross, Concerned Hearts, Bellin Hospital and his beloved Nativity of Our Lord Parish. Joe and Audrey also welcomed numerous newborn foster children (awaiting adoption) into their home.

Joe lived a life deeply rooted in love and devotion to his family. He enjoyed family gatherings, caring for his grandchildren and attending their sporting and theatrical events. He found joy in cheering on his favorite teams - the Ashwaubenon Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers.  He also enjoyed working outdoors to maintain his lawn and flower gardens, working diligently to ensure his yard was perfect.
