Kathryn Schipper Obituary

Kathryn M. Schipper, age 78, of Green Bay passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022, at her residence.

Kathryn was born October 21, 1943, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Dr. Raymond and Marie (Schneider) Yost.  She was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc with the Class of 1962.  Kathie then attended Dental Hygiene school at Marquette University, graduating in 1964.

She worked 43+ years as a hygienist for Drs. Lance & Tom Mayhew and Dr. Nick Abujamra (her special boss) until the time of her retirement in 2009.  She, in her later years, worked for Home Instead taking care of cherished people that she cared for.

Kathie was a role model for love, selflessness, passion, and a positive attitude.  She had a genuine "knack" for always finding an optimistic viewpoint to all challenges!  She looked at them as an opportunity to grow others, as well as herself.  She lived for sharing her love interacting with her grandchildren, whom she adored with a tremendous amount of pride.  All of them loved bonding and hanging with their Nanny!  Kathie lived in the shadows of Lambeau Field for almost 50 years!  During Packer home games, she opened her home to one and all, so as to show her unique Game Day experience.  Pizza Burgers were often the delicacy of choice on her menu.  She spent many Fall and Winter Sundays with her three children in Lambeau Field routing on the beloved Green & Gold!  In later years, Kathie enjoyed her daily walks with her "bestest" buddy, Lola, whom she rescued 14 years ago.  Lola repaid her by NEVER leaving her side - day or night for 14 years!  Along with her family, Kathie had several life-long friendships - many for over 50 years!  Our world is a better place for having known our: Mom, Nanny, Auntie, Sister, Friend, Neighbor, and Colleague for the past 78 years.

Survivors include her three children:  Timothy & Shellee (Henke) Schipper, Fond du Lac; and their children Eli & Simon; Tamra & Andrew Waterman, Wisconsin Dells; and their children Ava, Ryder, Piper and Wiley; Scott Schipper, Green Bay; and her dog Lola.  She is also survived by her dear roommates from Marquette University, her wonderful friends in Green Bay and other relatives.  Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; two beloved sisters: Madelyn Mlada and Mary Klassen; and her special brother-in-law: Thomas Mlada.

Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Green Bay.  Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Father Armando Red with burial of her cremated remains to take place at Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 12:30 p.m. Please wear Packer attire or anything that makes you feel comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to give a memorial donation to either Children's Hospital Herma Heart Center of Wisconsin or an Animal Rescue organization in your community in Kathryn M. Schipper's name.  Also, in her honor, please bring a smile to another person through an act of kindness, as she lived her graceful life embodying this philosophy.
