Green Bay-Remembering Kelly Ann Baierl, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, relative, friend, and neighbor, (who put others’ needs above her own through her kind and caring ways) went to eternal rest on July 24, 2025, after a yearlong battle with cancer, surrounded by her husband Bud and loved ones.
Kelly was born on August 8, 1959, in Green Bay to her loving parents, Claire and Pat Ferrington. She enjoyed growing up and spending special family times with her siblings Kevin, Kari, and Kraig. Kelly graduated from Ashwaubenon High School in 1977. After high school she worked many years as a waitress, offering amazing customer service. She later worked in the dental supplies business. Months after meeting the love of her life (Bud), Kelly announced to his parents, Rose, and Howard, that they were engaged. This was a surprise to Bud because he had not even proposed yet! After formally proposing, Kelly and Bud got married and then welcomed two loving children, a son (Billy) and a daughter (Jamie) into their lives. They became their world, and as a family they enjoyed many memorable times together. They especially enjoyed time up North at Bud’s parents’ home on the Menominee River. Much to Kelly’s surprise, this past May, Billy and Jamie and Jamie’s friend Rebecca (Bex), surprised her by going on a trip with her and Bud to Laughlin, Nevada. She loved the slot machines, and her family enjoyed her excitement while playing them. Yearly, their family welcomes family and friends to a booyah party at their house. Making the booyah was quite a process and a lot of family love went into that recipe!
Kelly overcame many obstacles in her life including medical challenges and the loss of loved ones. Kelly had a big heart and would be there for anyone who needed someone to make them feel special. Kelly was a great cook and often brought meals and treats to people who needed a little extra love and support. Kelly and Bud took care of their mothers as they dealt with medical challenges in their lives. They were also there for other family members and friends whenever they needed help, love, and/or support. With the loving support of their extended family, Kelly and Bud often put their own needs aside to care for family members and friends.
Kelly felt blessed to have her son-in-law, Ben, and daughter-in-law, Tara, join the family. They, along with her special nephew, Chris, and his wife, Monica, brought joy to her life. More blessings came when Kelly and Bud welcomed their granddaughters (Margaux, Kinsley, and Millie) into their lives. The girls enjoyed crafts with Grandma, baking, and finding fairies and butterflies in her yard. Margaux also enjoyed going to rummage sales with Grandma Kelly. Kelly’s granddaughters made her smile and helped her get through the challenging days in her battle with cancer.
Kelly especially enjoyed her talks with Bud in their garage. While they may have disagreed on some topics of conversation, they both agreed that finding each other was the best thing that ever happened to them. They shared true love and were always there for each other. Kelly also enjoyed gardening and planting beautiful flowers around her home. In addition, she made beautiful cards, photo collages, and framed pictures with dried flowers. These were often special gifts she gave to others. Kelly loved playing games on her phone; trying to convince Bud she was making money while playing them. Using her phone, Kelly was able to stay connected with loved ones, especially when it was difficult for her to leave her home to visit them.
In June, Kelly’s family celebrated her life and early birthday. Over two hundred people came to Jamie and Ben’s house to enjoy some of that delicious “Baierl” booyah and let Kelly know how much they loved her. Kelly greeted family and friends with the appreciation and love she always showed others. She was truly touched by all of those who came to celebrate her life.
Kelly’s legacy will live on through the lives of those she touched. She will always hold a special place in the hearts of her family, friends, “market buddies,” and others who were all blessed to meet and know her. If you see a lingering butterfly, or maybe even a fairy, know that Kelly is near watching over you.
Kelly is survived by her husband, Bud Baierl; her son, Billy (Tara) Baierl; her daughter, Jamie (Ben) Blundell; granddaughters, Margaux and Millie Blundell and Kinsley Baierl; her nephew, Chris (Monica) Hemb; her brother, Kevin Ferrington (Jessica); sister Kari Hemb; and her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kelly was preceded in death by her parents: Claire and Pat Ferrington, her brother, Kraig Ferrington, and her mother and father-in-law, Rose and Howard Baierl.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Bellin Cancer Team and Unity Hospice for the compassionate and dedicated care they gave to Kelly. Her nurses, Rabihah, and Kelly were there not only for Kelly but her family and friends as well. The family would also like to thank her “sisters,” Toni and Kim, for being there for her and the entire family.
A celebration of Kelly’s life will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Lyndahl Funeral Home. The visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m., with a service at 7:00 p.m.
Kelly’s life was blessed by all the joys in her life. She will be lovingly remembered for the love and support she gave to others.
