Larry J. Nellis, age 77, of Green Bay passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Bellin Hospital surrounded by family.
Larry was born December 3, 1944. He was a graduate of West High School with the Class of 1963. He joined the Navy shortly after graduation and was honorably discharged in 1965.
Larry wanted to share the following: After leaving the Navy I had a couple of jobs and then joined NCR in 1968, retiring in 2002. I missed all the friends, fellow workers, and customers. I then joined a startup in Madison, Edge One, with many of my old NCR friends and customers. I retired again in 2012
I married Kris Carter July 25, 1970. That didn’t last, but the friendship did. Thanks Kris. We had two beautiful daughters, Jessica Reid and Kelly Smith. Our five beautiful grandkids are “my buddy” Keenan Garnett, Kamryn and Karson Reid, and Liam and Isla Smith.
Kathy Doolan and I, my partner and soul mate, spent many years together taking road trips, enjoying nature, and simply enjoying each other’s company. She was always there for me.
As a young man I played all the rec sports, then golf. Thanks for the memories of sunrise golf with Kevin, Matt, Terry, and many more.
Larry loved working in his “toy shop” making sawdust. He built toy chests for all his and Kathy’s grandkids, as well as tables and wall clocks. His other loves were gardening, yardwork, walking with his neighbor and the neighbor’s dog, and feeding the ducks. He liked being busy.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service for Larry will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at The Lyndahl Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
The family will greet friends on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m.
