Leon Peterson Obituary

Leon Richard Peterson, born on November 5, 1939, passed away peacefully on October 10, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 84 years old.

Leon was a proud graduate of West De Pere High School, Class of 1958. While still a junior in high school, Leon joined the Marine Corps Reserves, embodying the values of service, discipline, and dedication that would define his life.

He dedicated 35 years of his professional life to Procter & Gamble, where he was respected for his hard work and integrity. However, it was his role as a husband, father, and grandfather that truly defined him.

In 1979, Leon married the love of his life, Kathy. Together, they built a beautiful, blended family, with Kathy bringing three children and Leon bringing six. Their union was one of love, mutual respect, and a deep commitment to each other and their children. Leon and Kathy's home was always filled with laughter, love, and countless memories as they raised their family with care and devotion.

Leon was a man of many passions, and he made sure to share them with his children. He involved them in the art of karate, and together, they traveled the state for tournaments and demonstrations, creating bonds and memories that will last a lifetime. Leon was also an avid outdoorsman who loved boating, fishing, waterskiing, and camping. These activities were not just hobbies, but opportunities for him to create cherished moments with his family.

A devoted father and grandfather, Leon attended every activity, event, and milestone in his children's and grandchildren's lives. He made them feel extra special every year with his funny customized birthday cards; they looked forward to receiving them every year. He was their biggest supporter, always present with a smile, a word of encouragement, and an unwavering sense of pride.

Leon Richard Peterson was a special man who left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His legacy of love, strength, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Leon is survived by his beloved wife Kathy, his children Pam (Terry), Kathy, Peggy, Tim, Kristin (Kevin), Bryan (Chandi), Allen (Shelby), his sister Carolyn, and numerous grandchildren, all of whom will carry his memory with them forever. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Ellen, his two brothers Wayne and Eugene, his sister Donna, and his beloved daughters Karyn and Sarah.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at the Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., Green Bay, on Thursday, October 17 from 5-7PM, with a moment of sharing at 5:30PM, to honor and remember the wonderful man that Leon was.
