Lois Cravillion Obituary

Lois Ann Cravillion, 78, died peacefully at home on August 9, 2024, surrounded by her family due to complications of a stroke.  Lois was born on August 17th, 1945 in Hancock, MI.  She attended and graduated from Hancock High School.

She married the love of her life, Gary Cravillion on May 27th, 1997.  Together they owned and operated three businesses.  They worked together to assist the courts with court appointed guardianships and assisted clients and their families with their business Guardians Plus. From there they operated as independent contractors in helping Harley Davidson demonstrate Buell motorcycles around the entire country.  During their down time on the road together, Lois and Gary took the time to visit as much of the country that their travels in all 48 states of the continental United States and Ontario, Canada would allow. Following their time with Harley Davidson/Buell they ventured into their business of G&L Pilot Car Service where they again were able to travel the country while helping America work on its infrastructure in the way of large, oversized loads such as parts of electrical turbines that make up America's wind farms as well as computer servers that create the digital clouds for computer services.

In her younger life, Lois began her working career as a telephone operator and also attended business school in Minnesota.  After that she moved to Green Bay and while raising and expanding her young family, Lois was a keypunch operator at Paper Converting. She also chased the dream of flying and earned her pilot's license and flew small engine aircraft. She followed this with yet another career move and studied and became a volunteer EMT for the Village of Ashwaubenon. Over time she again advanced her working life to become an Economic Support Specialist for Brown County, WI.  She was dedicated to this job and did this for 17 years.

Lois was a beautiful soul that demonstrated incredible love, strength, courage and generosity.  She had a passion for family and friends of which she was protective. The one thing you never found in their home was a closed door.  Everyone that knocked at the door was greeted with a smile and a hug whether you were stopping for a moment or an extended visit. Her deep well of love and compassion had no bottom.  She was always and without question, ready to give and loved to receive hugs.  She was incredibly driven to strive to succeed and was always willing to learn new things.  One of her many hobbies was making absolutely beautiful crocheted blankets after teaching herself to crochet.  Every time a new baby was on the way, she set out to try to crochet a new baby blanket before the baby's arrival, whether it was done at home or on the road in her many miles of travel with Gary.  This hobby was also taught to and passed on to many children and grandchildren. She loved reading and watching movies with the kids and grandkids.  She was always excited to ride motorcycles with Gary and the more crooked the road the better and she loved shopping in bulk for family. Whether it was for food for the next party or Christmas gifts by the dozens, the shopping trip alone was an adventure with funny stories behind each trip  and talked about and giggled about, in some cases, for years. She had the ability to cook for the army that was family and friends and would use any reason as an excuse to get together to make memories. She never lost her hunger to learn and was very much into diving into family history and the next tech advancement that came along. She shared family history and answered questions of information that she found and was quick to try to adapt the new technology advances into daily life. She absolutely loved to read and read and read. Her love of books was endless and she always said “Reading a book can take you a million miles away in your imagination and you don't even have to leave your chair!”

She is preceded in death by her parents Weldon and Lorraine (Peltier) Trevethan and son Joseph Engel and two brothers.

She is survived by husband Gary Cravillion, children Timothy Sayen (Celeste), Terry Reaume (Alan), Tammy Wulterkens (Roger), Tracey Young (Bruce), Todd Sayen, Kim Crubaugh (Brent), Ken Cravillion (Abby), Sue Bornemann (Jon), Bob Bougneit, special son and daughter Alan and Deanne Barsi.  In addition to all of the children, there were 31 very loved grandchildren and 15 very loved great grandchildren as well as two brothers and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very beloved pup Bailey.

Lois had a favorite quote that always reminded you of how valuable and precious life is:

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift, that is why we call it the present!”
