Lois Frangquist Obituary

Lois M. Frangquist, age 96, of Green Bay passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Anna Johns Nursing Home, Oneida.

Lois was born December 1, 1928 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Paul F. and Lillian (Brueckner) Suess.  She was a graduate of Green Bay West High School and attended U.W. Lacrosse where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree.  On June 6, 1959 she was united in marriage to Lee Frangquist at Trinity Lutheran Church, Green Bay.

Lois was very involved with sports in her high school years and excelled in volleyball and basketball.  She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed books about religion and faith which were of utmost importance to her.  Lois enjoyed traveling with Lee to the family cabin in Silver Cliff.  She took long walks and admired the abundance of wildflowers and wildlife.  Lois was a very big influence in her grandsons’ lives, she loved them dearly and treasured her time spent with them.  She was a wonderful mother to Todd and Terry and will be greatly missed.

Lois was a Physical Education teacher at West DePere after college.  She then took a break from her career to raise her children.  After the children were grown, Lois went back to teaching at Ashwaubenon School District until her retirement.  She loved teaching and cherished her students

Survivors include her husband of 65 years:  Lee Frangquist; her children:  son Todd (Susan) Frangquist, Allenton; daughter Terry Frangquist, Green Bay; her grandchildren Justin Frangquist (Holly Neill); Jordan (Kayleigh) Frangquist; step grandchildren:  Rebecca (Matthew) Herther; Matthew (Nicole) Kuechler; step great grandsons:  Owen & Gavin Herther; step great granddaughters:  Chelsea Herther and Tia Kuechler; her sister-in-law:  Carol Frost; her brother-in-law:  Oliver “Ollie” Bohning; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Lois was preceded in death by her parents Paul & Lillian Suess, parents-in-law Arthur and Helena Frangquist, her brothers Jerome P., Robert D. and William L. Suess, brothers-in-law Gerald Frangquist and Jack Frost, sisters-in-law Anita Bohning, Gladys Suess, LaVerne Suess, Alice Suess and Doris Suess, nephew Larry J. Suess and Tony Bellamy (Terry’s partner).

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 11: a.m. at the Lyndahl Funeral Home.  Entombment will take place at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at a later date.  The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 11:00 a.m.
