Lorraine Adela Hansen

After 97 years on earth God decided to welcome a wonderful and passionate lady into Heaven on April 26, 2023, to continue her journey with the love of her life Harold. Lorraine was born on December 5, 1925, in Jacksonport, WI to the late Fred and Eleanor (Hanson) Weiterman.

Lorraine moved to Chicago in her early years of life and that is where she met Harold. After a few short months of dating, they were united in marriage on November 23, 1946.

A few years later they moved to Green Bay, WI to start a new beginning and a family. That is when Lorraine became a homemaker to pursue her passion for cooking, baking and taking care of everyone as if they were her own. She was always the first one to volunteer for her daughters or grandchildren for their bake sales or anything else that they needed. All will miss her cooking and baking, especially her Tollhouse bars!

Lorraine especially loved spending time up in Door County at her family home with her sisters picking cherries, antiquing, cooking and spending time with her family entertaining.

Lorraine is survived by: Daughter: Deborah Greening (Special Friend Stephen Barber), Granddaughters: Tracey (Corey) Schroeder, Kerry McIntyre (Shawn Smurawa), Jenna (John Paul) Micheau; son-in-Law: Kenneth Adams; three great-grandchildren: Noah and Gabriella Schroeder and Macenzi Smurawa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and in laws.

Proceeded in death by her husband Harold, Her daughter Barbara, 5 brothers, William, Melvin, Donald, John, and Fredrick: three sisters, Ione, Betty and Barbara Ann: stepsister and brother-in-law, Hilma and Elmer Litke.

A funeral service to celebrate Lorraine’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 11:00am at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1350 Bond St., with Rev. Kim Swenson officiating. Relative and friends may greet the family on Tuesday May 2,2023 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Lorraine will be laid to rest at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
