Marcey Emily Pelnar, 88, of Green Bay died on Friday, November 26, 2021 at her home.
Marcey was born on January 7, 1933 in Kewaunee to the late Lucas and Emily (Swintkoske) Ratajczak. She is a graduate of Kewaunee High School. On October 17, 1953 she married Clifford Destree. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1963. On January 25, 1974 she married James Pelnar. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2001. Marcey was a clinical receptionist spending the last 20 years of her employment at East Walnut Family Practice, until her retirement in 1996.
Marcey was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. Throughout the years, Marcey worked for many charitable organizations through church and her community. Marcey was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and dice with her friends, going dancing with Jim, and loved spending time with her family.
Marcey is survived by her children: Pam (Dale) Post, Sue (John) Matte, Jean Destree, Dave (Gwendolyn) Pelnar, Ken (Diane) Destree, Joe (Mary) Destree, Tammy (Dean) Johanek, and Steve (Tish) Destree; daughter-in-law: Hermie Destree; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Jerome (Pat) Ratajczak and Luke (Helen) Ratajczak. She is furthered survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marcey is preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands: Clifford Destree and Jim Pelnar; son: Thomas “Tom” Destree; sisters and brothers-in-law: Virginia (Eugene) Salaty, Adelle (Elmer) Flegal, Charlotte Ratajczak, and Joan (John) Atkins; two sisters-in-law: Diana Ratajczak and Delores Ratajczak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1pm on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St., Green Bay, with Rev. Matt Simonar officiating. Entombment will be at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., Green Bay, from 5-7pm, with a prayer service being held at 7pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the church from 12pm until the time of service at 1pm.
