Margaret S. Basso, age 91, of Green Bay, passed away Monday April 7, 2025, at Dimensions Living in Green Bay. Margaret was born January 30, 1934, to the late Victor and Susan (Troyen) Nordell in Iron Mountain, MI. She attended Kingsford High School, graduating with the class of 1952. She attended Davenport Institute, Grand Rapids and graduated with an Associate’s Degree. On August 27, 1960, she married Albert C. Basso in Iron Mountain, MI. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1992.
Throughout the years, Margaret enjoyed time with her family and friends, her cats, traveling, gardening, needlepoint, cross stitching, reading a good book, bowling, and cheering on her favorite team, The Green Bay Packers. Her faith and family were important in her life and she volunteered her time in support of both, including being a eucharistic minister at Nativity of Our Lord Parish.
She is survived by one daughter: Vicki (Mickey) Davis, GA; three sons: Stephen (Kristin) Basso, CT, Jon Basso, Green Bay, and David (Patty) Basso, MA; six grandchildren: Madeleine and Jack Davis, Isabelle and Olivia Basso, and Katryn and Joseph Basso. Other relatives and friends also survive.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Albert Nordell.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday April 15, 2025, at 10:30 am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S. Oneida St., Green Bay with Father Matt Simonar officiating. Visitation will occur from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain, MI.
