Mary Weaver Obituary

Mary Ann Weaver, age 91, of Green Bay, died at her home of the last 59 years and entered her eternal home on March 14, 2023.

Born October 24, 1931 in Bethlehem, PA, she was the ninth and youngest child of the late Henry and Anna (Heimer) Albert. Mary was a graduate of Penn State University and received her BA in Home Economics. She met her future husband, Walter H. Weaver, while working together at Tressler Home for Children in Pennsylvania.  They married on October 6, 1956 and settled in Green Bay, WI where they shared 33 years together. Walter preceded her in death in 1990.

Mary took great pride in her three children, Diane, Peggy, and Dan, and instilled in them a love of music, art and reading.

Mary was the ultimate homemaker. She excelled at baking, gardening, and sewing.  She played a mean game of scrabble and loved working crossword puzzles.  Mary enjoyed the companionship of many pets over the years and had a special place in her heart for her two golden retrievers, Haley and Cadie.

Mary enjoyed playing piano and was an avid reader. She created beautiful oil paintings. She volunteered countless hours at Calvary Lutheran Church; singing in the choir, working at the food pantry, and making quilts for Lutheran World Relief.

She is survived by her three children: Diane (Jeff) Roznowski of Wauwatosa, Peggy Weaver of Madison, and Daniel (Kristine) Weaver of Green Bay. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Lauren (Michael) Roznowski Hayden of Wauwatosa, Matthew Roznowski of Minneapolis, Emily Roznowski (Charles Fox) of Chicago, Evan Weaver of Green Bay, Lawson Liedtke, and Duncan Liedtke, both of Green Bay.  She adored her two great granddaughters: Harper and Frances Hayden of Wauwatosa.

She was blessed with many caring friends and neighbors who brought her joy and companionship, and in the later years of her life helped make it possible for her to remain in her home.

A memorial celebration of Mary's life will be held on April 15, 2023, 1:00 pm at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1301 S. Ridge Road, Green Bay, WI. Visitation will occur from 12:30 pm until the time of service. The family suggests wearing something turquoise, Mary’s favorite color.  Following the service, a pie and coffee reception will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Calvary Lutheran Church in Green Bay or the Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin (GRROW).
