Michael Byrnes

Mike “Gus” R. Byrnes, age 73, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018.  He was born July 10, 1945 to Henrietta (Reimer) Byrnes and the late Harold Byrnes in Green Bay.  On August 28, 1965 Mike married Kathy Bebeau in Green Bay.

He worked for the railroad for 33 years, with 20 of those years at the Green Bay & Western.  Mike enjoyed going to his cabin in Townsend, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and was devoted to his mother and father.  He also enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, and going up north during the week to feed the birds and deer and spending time at the Long Branch in Townsend with his friends.  

Mike is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathy; his mother Henrietta; four children, Tammy (Donald) Hultman, Tim (Janice) Byrnes, Todd (Shelly) Byrnes and Tracy (Amy) Byrnes; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his brother John “Jack” (Barb) Byrnes; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Mike will be held Monday, September 17, 2018, from 3:00 pm until the funeral service at 7:00 pm at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue.  Expressions of sympathy, memories and photos may be shared with Mike’s family on his tribute page at www.lyndahl.com.
