Milton W. Henderson, age 98 of Green Bay, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Grand Care Nursing Center in Green Bay.
Milton was born on December 21, 1926 in Brantwood, WI, son of the late John and Helga (Keto) Henderson. He grew up in Brantwood and was a 1944 graduate of Prentice High School. Following high school, Milton was drafted into the U.S. Navy and a member of the U.S. Navy Reserves until the end of World War II. After his naval discharge, he attended Michigan Tech University graduating in 1949 with a degree in electrical engineering. In 1950, he was recalled into the Navy for the Korean Conflict, later discharged. On March 17, 1951, Milton married Elaine D. Schlei at Makalapa Chapel, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. She preceded him in death on September 11, 2021. Milton was an Electrical Distribution Engineer for Wisconsin Public Service in Green Bay, retiring at the age of 62. He enjoyed camping, skiing, and traveling. The couple traveled around the United States, making it to all states accept Delaware and New Jersey. They also made it throughout Canada, taking four trips to Alaska and crossing the Arctic Circle. In the past, Milton was active with the YMCA Men’s Club.
Survivors include his two children: Mark (Dawn) Henderson, Nancy Thompson; three grandchildren: Matt (Kalah) Thompson, Jill York, Ian (Elizabeth) Henderson; four great-grandchildren: Kaylee Thompson and Sandra Thompson, Gwendolynne and Penelope York; two step-great-grandchildren: Aliyah, Arya; one sister-in-law: Betty Reckelberg; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Helga Henderson; one son: William Henderson; one sister and brother-in-law: Verna (Lester) Wippich.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at the Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., Green Bay. The Rev. Jerome Sahabandhu will officiate with burial to follow in the Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 Noon, until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.
