Nancy Jean (Wiesner) Jantz passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026. Nancy was born to W. Edwin and Alice (Quintal) Wiesner on April 6, 1927.
Nancy graduated from East High School in Green Bay. On November 20, 1946 she married Truman Lee Jantz. She was a long-time employee of Prange’s Department Store, working in the book department until her retirement. Nancy had many hobbies, including gardening, baking, cooking, crafts of all kinds, reading, solving puzzles, knitting and crocheting. Most notable of these hobbies, Nancy crocheted hundreds of hats and sweaters for children and babies for a church outreach program, and her grandchildren will treasure the hand-crafted Christmas ornaments that were gifted every year. Nancy also loved animals, especially dogs, and watching football, especially the Packers and Brewers baseball.
Nancy was a long-time active member of Grace Lutheran Church. There she taught Sunday school, attended Bible studies and served for a time on the altar guild and as treasurer. She also led Bible studies for the residents of Santa Maria Nursing Home during Truman’s time there.
Nancy was proceeded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, husband Truman, brother Roger, sons Stephen and Kevin, daughter Kathy (Johnson), daughter-in-law Lois Van Abel, sister-in-law Judy Wiesner and brother-in-law Robert Apple.
Nancy is survived by her son Gary, daughters Rebecca (Jozef) VanWychen, Loni (Steve) Jahnke, son-in-law Jim Johnson, grandchildren Tracy (Brad) Jaeger, Amy (Mark) Dresher, Robin (Christopher) Sherman, Steve (Mary) Jantz, Eric (Jess) Jantz, Riley (Kelsey) Jantz, Taylor Jantz, Chris (Corina) Duprey, Brenda (Dan) Schutt, Royce (Hannah) Jahnke, Sam (Emily) Jahnke and Josh (Kari) Jahnke, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, brothers Don, Doug (Alice) and Cary, sisters Stephanie Apple and Jodi (Tom) Peters and special family friend Jim VanAbel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Grace Lutheran Church (321 S. Madison Street). Burial will take place at Nicolet Memorial Gardens cemetery at a later time.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 11:00 a.m.
