Noelle L. Meier passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
She was born in Oakland, California in 1927 to her parents, Mary W. (Leigh) and Peter Kwaak. She graduated from Castlemont High School and then went into training as an X-ray Technician at a local hospital. While skating in a city park, she met a young Navy Sailor who was stationed at Treasure Island. Noelle and Leo were married on April 18, 1946. Since Leo was a Wisconsin farm boy, they moved to Wisconsin where they first farmed and in later years moved to Langlade Avenue, Green Bay, Wisconsin. Noelle was an active and long-time member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She played the organ, directed a youth choir and was one of the longest members of the senior choir. She was a vocalist at other Green Bay churches as well. Noelle also taught piano from her home and for Henri’s Music. Noelle and Leo were foster parents to many children over the years.
Noelle is survived by her children, Ileen (Norman) Ryskoski and Randall (Elisse) Meier; grandchildren, Kristin (John) Blanchard and Andrew (Kim) Meverden; step-grandchildren, Aaron (Erin Reger) Monroe, Richard (Sue) Ryskoski, Mary (Eric) Langlois and David (Ann) Ryskoski; great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; cousin Jean Phelps; nephews and nieces of the Meier family.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday July 20, 2021 at Lyndahl Funeral Home. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Jeff Fricke.
