Paula G. Nault, age 76, of Green Bay, WI, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital.
Born November 5, 1948, in Iron Mountain, MI, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Genevieve (Balsom) Zeutzius. She was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1966.
After high school graduation, she attended classes at Northern Michigan University. However, she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, followed by her Certified Public Accounting credential. This was done as an adult and set a great example for her two daughters, Dana (Scott) Beining and Alyson Hess.
Paula used this education most recently with the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay, St. Therese of the Little Flower, where she was the Financial Systems Consultant. Her appreciation for the position and her co-workers prompted her to continue working part-time, even after her retirement in 2016.
When not working, Paula enjoyed time with her grandchildren, Seth (Desarae) Beining, Leah Beining, Emily Hess, and Ethan Hess. Time was also spent with her sister Janis (Zeutzius) Stearns, to include traveling and horseback riding, even in Zion National Park.
Paula not only rode horses with her family and Janis, but also participated in activities with the Rough Riders Saddle Club of Wayside, WI, rode weekly at Twin Artesian Stables, and was active with the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), where she made wonderful friends and had medieval experiences; she even took up horse-mounted archery at age 72!
Always up for adventure, Paula has been to Ireland, Tiblisi in the country of Georgia, Italy with both daughters and granddaughter Leah, and Aruba and St. Thomas for work training. Decorating cakes was a passion of Paula‘s, and she has done many different projects. From cakes that won ribbons at the county fair to doing the wedding cake for both of her daughters, she has been able to share her talent with others.
Faith was important to Paula; she held many committee and leadership positions at Bethany United Methodist Church. If there was a need, Paula's hand often went up to volunteer. Part of her regular activities with the church were through the Bell Choir, of which she was the last remaining founding member, and the Chancel Choir. Over the past couple of years, she led the group that kept the church decorated for all seasons, especially known for putting up multiple Christmas trees in celebration of the holidays.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Genevieve (Balsom) Zeutzius, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and pets.
Survivors outside of the immediate family include her sister Janis Stearns' children Shannon (Daniel) Hopkins, Heather (Dale) Robertson, and Kevin (Jennifer) Stearns. Her prior husband, Daniel Nault, and his family include Tim and Denise (Pelletier) Nault, Stacey (Ben) Baker, Trista (Shane) Spera, and Kristofor Nault. And we can't forget her horse, Dolly, and dog, Cheerio.
Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Bethany United Methodist Church. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Robb McClintock.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 11:30 a.m.
