Raymond (Ray) Delforge Obituary

Raymond (Ray) L. Delforge 83, Green Bay passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. Ray was born on February 18, 1942, in Green Bay, the son of the now late Raymond and Gwendolyn Delforge. Ray was a graduate of Premontre High School. He graduated from UW Oshkosh with a master's in teaching.  Ray went on to teach at East High School until his retirement.  His love of teaching was passed on to his students who related well to "Mr. Delforge" and loved his sense of humor.  After his retirement he went on to help create a program to assist students at risk of not graduating with the Green Bay Public School System.   Ray married Rita Westerman on June 7, 1980. 

 Ray loved to play golf, travel, and enjoyed watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers, WI Badgers, and the Milwaukee Brewers.   Ray also enjoyed his backyard where he spent many spring and summer nights out on his patio with a few “pops”.   He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, a friend to many and will be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed. 

Ray is survived by the love of his life, his wife Rita Delforge, his children: Renee (Mike) Bergsbaken, Brian (Mary) Delforge, Mike (Welcy) Giese, and Michelle Matthes.  4 grandchildren; Brigette Smith, Brian (Mallory) Delforge Jr., Mariah (Matt) Seguin, and Christian Matthes, along with 7 great-grandchildren.  Brother Ron (Joan) Delforge and Sister Debbie (Brian) Cuene.  Brother-in-laws Henry (Judy) Westerman, Tom (Bonnie) Westerman, and Jerry Westerman. Sister-in-laws Betty Ann Westerman, Mary (Roger) Van De Hay, and Patti (Gary) Westerman.  He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Judy and Carl Mortimer, sister-in-law Connie Starr and sister-in-law Judy Smith.  Mother and Father in-law Helen and Fred Westerman, and special friend Julius Jadin. 

Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at St. Agnes Parish 1484 Ninth Street in Green Bay.  A Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Father Patrick Beno officiating.
