Richard H. Bott

Richard "Dick" Harold Bott, 92, of Ashwaubenon, was called to his heavenly home on June 4, 2026. 

Richard was born on March 30, 1934, in Fond du Lac to the late Harold and Marie (Schultz) Bott. He was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School. On December 27, 1958, he married his childhood sweetheart, Marcia, beginning a partnership that would define his life and shape a family he cherished above all else.

Dick was a devoted family man in the truest sense. He was always there — as a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a great-grandfather — with care, steadfast devotion, and a sense of fun that made every gathering better. He made sure it was all captured, camera in hand, from early reels of film in the 1950s through decades of family life on video. For Dick, providing for his family wasn't a responsibility — it was what he was most proud of. He worked as a machine engineer, beginning with Giddings & Lewis in Fond du Lac where he completed his apprenticeship, before going on to a career at Paper Converting Machine Company in Green Bay, retiring in 1997 with a reputation built on precision and dedication. Long after retirement, Dick remained the family's go-to fixer for anything mechanical or structural — the one you called when a repair was needed. His hands-on knowledge was a gift the family leaned on.

Dick was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Green Bay, where he faithfully served for many years. He loved sports in every season of his life. In his youth he honed his skills on hockey skates, having grown up on the west shore of Lake Winnebago, and went on to distinguish himself as a talented bowler, competing in league play well into his adult years. A proud Packers season ticket holder, Dick was among those who witnessed the legendary Ice Bowl in 1967. He was equally devoted to his Milwaukee Brewers, following them faithfully. Dick also loved family travels, especially road trips to Florida and visits to National Parks.

Dick was the master architect of the family's gathering places — the home near Lambeau Field and the beloved cottage up north. Built and tended under his careful watch, these weren't just houses; they were his love letters to his family. Every detail was intentional: the horseshoe pit for friendly rivalry, the bonfire circle for late-night talks, the lakeside porch made for card games, summer dinners, and laughter, and just enough room for a close-knit and growing family. He actively supported all of the activities of his kids and grandkids including various sports – swimming, basketball, track, softball, volleyball, baseball, and soccer. 

Dick liked to picture his descendants as a family garden — growing and always worth gathering around. 

Dick is survived by three daughters: Katherine (Joe) Neuberger, Paula (Keith) Asen, and Victoria (Stuart) Fronk; grandchildren: Jenna (Zach) Burczyk, Rachel (Cody) Peterson, Joseph (Samantha) Neuberger, Olivia (fiancé Zach) Asen, Riley (Marva) Asen, Elizabeth Fronk, Anna Fronk, and Virginia Fronk; great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Autumn, and Isla Burczyk and Camden, Cole, and Callie Peterson; and sister-in-law and dear friend: Lois Priebe. He is further survived by nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marcia (Priebe); his parents, Harold and Marie Bott; and his sister, Janet (Murphy).

A funeral service to celebrate Richard’s life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 1:00 pm at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1167 Kenwood Street, Green Bay. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, June 12, 2026 at the church from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Time of Grace Ministries or Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.
