Robert “Bob” L Barrette, age 72, of Howard, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. He was born on May 26, 1951, to Lawrence and Rita (Zepnick) Barrette in Green Bay. He graduated from Southwest High School with the class of 1970.
After high school graduation, in 1971, Bob joined the Army Reserves with the 948th Transportation Company in Green Bay, where he continued to serve his country until 1977. In January of 1973, he met the love of his life, Sandra "Sandi" Woodhouse. On May 11,1974, Bob and Sandi were united in marriage at Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. During this time, Bob continued to work for various contractors, building homes; and on February 26, 1978, Bob and Sandi welcomed their only child, a son, Chad. He continued working with home building until 1987. There he went on to work for the Green Bay Public School District until his retirement in 2013.
In his spare time, Bob enjoyed going to his cabin with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, sitting by the campfire making popcorn, and most of all, spending time with his 2 grandchildren, Crue and Isla. Bob was a very kind, considerate, and generous man. He was always there to lend a hand to those in need, even in his final days. "Papa Bear" was loved very much, and will be deeply missed.
