Shortly after he started driving truck and retired from driving after 30 years. He then went to work for Dorsch Ford and later VanDrisse Lincoln and Mercury working in the parts department. At that time he made friends with Joe Faltynisk and Fred “Fritz” Martin. During this time he met Ken Kraft, the owner of Midwest Automotive Consulting Inc, taking inventories at automobile dealerships around the country. He did this part time for over 35 years. When Karen retired she joined the group which also included lots of eating and drinking after work. He was also a 24 gallon blood donor for the Red Cross and a lifetime member of the NRA.
