Ronald “Ron” James Watermolen, 80, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Bellin Memorial Hospital.
Ron was born on February 27, 1942 in Green Bay to Clifford and Adeline (Maus) Watermolen. He was a graduate of Green Bay West High School. On August 25, 1962 he married the former Joyce Rolley. In 1967, Ron joined Public Service as a warehouseman. In 1969 he transferred to the Gas Street Department as a streetsman-serviceman. He then joined the Pulliam Operations area in 1975 and transferred to the Maintenance Department in 1978 where he was a maintenance welder until his retirement in 2004.
Ron enjoyed old cars, motorcycles, trap shooting, gardening, time outdoors; especially fishing and hunting trips, going up to the cabin, having an old fashion or two, and spending time with his family. He was quite the handyman, and able to fix almost anything.
Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years: Joyce; son: Michael (Tina) Watermolen; daughter: Jean (Mike) Michell; grandchildren: Stephanie (Andy) Sorenson, Kyle Bersch, Dylan (Alicia) Michell, and Dylan Bersch; great-grandchildren: Colt and Barrick Sorenson, and Tessa Michell; brothers: Thomas Watermolen, and Kevin (Sheral) Watermolen; sisters: Darlene Corbeille, and Ruth Durrant; and sister-in-law: Linda Rolley. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law: Lloyd and Gladys Rolley; brother: Gerald (Judy) Watermolen; sisters-in-law: Barbara Watermolen; brothers-in-law: Bob Rolley and Norman Corbeille.
A funeral service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 6:00pm at the Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., with Deacon Greg Rotherham officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the funeral home from 3:00pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm. Ron will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 12:00 pm.
