Rose Mackowiak

Rose Viola Evelyn Mackowiak, age 75, of the town of Belle Plaine, passed away on March 3, 2023.  Born on July 22, 1947, she was the daughter of Albert and Amanda (Hintz) Piotraschke. 

In 1968, she was united in marriage to Ervin F. Mackowiak in Clintonville, Erv and Rose farmed for 40 years.  In their early years, they loved polka dancing with Dean and Marcia Malueg, among other friends. 

Rose is survived by her two daughters, Marcia (Steve) Riemer and Bobbi (Ray) Schmidt.  Grandchildren, Jake (Erin) Riemer, Zac (Natalie) Riemer and Cory (girl friend Alena) Reimer.  She enjoyed going to her grandsons’ baseball games and other sports they were in.  She is also survived by her brother, Arnie Piotraschke and sister, Gladys Begrow. 

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Ervin, her sister Ella Laabs, and her parents Albert & Amanda Piotraschke. 

Rose enjoyed researching family genealogy and her two cats, Boo and Rascal. 

Thank you to Thedacare ICU and the Hospice staff that too care of our dearly departed mother.  A special thanks to our Mom’s friend, Amy for helping with the cats and visiting our mother. 

There will be a private celebration between the immediate family.  Thoughts and prayers to all our friends and extended families. 

Rose was a loving mother, grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family.
