Sharon "Sherry" Bikowski Obituary

Sharon Ann “Sherry” Bikowski, age 69, of Green Bay passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Patient Pines Assisted Living, Green Bay, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Sherry was born December 22, 1952, in Green Bay to the late Larry and Lorraine (Wierzba) Kust. She attended St. Agnes grade school and graduated from Green Bay Southwest High School with the Class of 1971. On January 5, 1996, Sherry was united in marriage to Joseph Bikowski at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Green Bay.

Sherry had the great fortune of having several interesting and fulfilling jobs during her career. Her love for animals led her to volunteer with the Bay Area Humane Society pet adoption program. Sherry enjoyed appearing on local television and radio programs to help find forever homes for unwanted pets.

Sherry went on to become executive director for Downtown Green Bay, Inc. During her tenure, she was responsible for organizing and managing events such as the Downtown Green Bay Christmas Parade, Celebrate Americafest and the Shopko Fireworks, Summer in the Park concert series, Clean Up Your Outer Space, and the Titletown Challenge Bike Race. In 1995, Sherry was presented with the WFRV TV Woman of the Week Award for her contributions and positive impact on the community.

Sherry was an accomplished cook, having won several cooking competitions. Her passion for cooking eventually led her to become director of The Catering Company, a division of PMI, Inc. In that position, she managed the catering operation and food service for events at Lambeau Field, the Resch Center, Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena, and Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame. Sherry concluded her career as marketing representative with Hallmark, Inc.

Sherry’s dedication to physical fitness frequently found her working out with friends at the Green Bay YMCA and Western Racquet and Fitness Club. She was especially proud when she and her eldest daughter trained for and competed in the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon and Bellin 10K Run.

Sherry’s greatest joys were her four children and her twelve grandchildren. She was an incredible mother and a loving dedicated grandmother. Sherry had a unique way of making every birthday, holiday, and event a memorable and special occasion. She loved to decorate her home for holidays and was so happy to spend them with family. Sherry’s love for her family and her desire to give to others will be remembered and carried on for generations to come.

Sherry is survived by her husband Joe; children:  Stacey (Kara) Christenson, Sun Prairie, WI; Dr. Ryan (Dr. Anne) Dudley, St. Joseph MI; Nicole (Dr. Andrew) McEntee, Quincy, IL; Brandon (Rebecca Mingus) Dudley, San Diego, CA; 12 grandchildren; brother:  Jerry Kust, Green Bay; sister:  Debra (Bart) Blohowiak, Franklin, WI; brother-in-law:  Paul Todd, Franklin, WI; as well as nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family and special friends.  Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Linda Todd.
