Shirley Hoegger Obituary

Shirley Jean Hoegger (Aderman), of Green Bay, passed away after a short illness on May 11, 2024, at the age of 95. She was born September 8, 1928, to the late Milton and Mildred (Holschuh) Aderman. Shirley grew up in Plymouth, WI where she was the majorette for her high school. She amazed her children with twirling abilities. Shirley had many friends in high school who she maintained friendships with until her passing.

Shirley began dating Robert (Bob) Hoegger from nearby Sheboygan Falls in high school, and on July 28, 1951, they were married in Plymouth. Bob, an Army sergeant, was stationed in Fort Worden, WA where Shirley joined him and served as a telephone operator on the base. After discharge from the service in 1952, the Hoeggers returned to Wisconsin with their first child, Dean, and began raising their family with the new additions, Dale, Heidi, and Drew in Fond du Lac.

After a short residency in Potter, WI, Shirley and Bob moved to Green Bay where they added Dave to the family. They would both reside in the family home they built in 1960, until passing away.

It was in Green Bay that Shirley found her calling as an Avon representative, while also raising five children. She made many friends over the years being the “Avon Lady,” was a member of the Avon president’s club, and continued to make sales into her nineties.

As a hardworking, dedicated mother Shirley provided for her family’s many needs. Whether it was cooking a daily dinner, keeping a tidy house, attending school events, or providing camping and cottage experiences, she deserved “the mother of the year award” every year. As grandchildren came into the picture, they received the same love and attention she gave her children.

Shirley will probably be most remembered by her relatives and many friends as the hostess with the mostess. She would go to great ends to be sure her guests were well attended, whether it was at holiday gathering or weekends at the trailer by the lake. Both Shirley and Bob loved hosting family and friends at their trailer, first at Boulder Lake, then at High Falls. Shirley’s photo albums attest to the good times had by many visitors over 30 years.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Bob, and her sister Doreen Hannert. She is survived by her children Dean (Julie), Dale, Heidi (Kurt), Drew (Chris), and David; sisters-in-laws Anita Knaub and Jane Busch; ten grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
