Susan (Sue) Warner Obituary

Susan (Sue) M. Warner, a longterm resident of Green Bay passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her beloved family and dog, Sami.

Susan was a devoted mother to her children, Christina (Eric) Hermsen, James Warner (Jim Baltus), and Steven Warner. She also cherished her bonus daughters, Heather (Brock) Herbst, and Karla Giraldez, who were like family and held a special place in her heart.  Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her grandchildren, Hunter (Tori) Hermsen and Mariah Hermsen. They brought her endless pride, laughter, and love.

Susan is further survived by her siblings, brother Larry Van Frachen, and sisters Judy Van Frachen and Peggy Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Helen (NySwonger) Van Frachen; her estranged spouse, Michael Warner; her son, Steven Warner; and other beloved family members and close friends.

In her most recent years, Susan found a special place to call home at the Veterans Manor. It was there that she truly found her people and thrived among a community she considered family. She spoke of her friends often and cherished their time spent together—whether attending special events, sharing stories, or simply enjoying the fresh air and conversation out on the patio.

Susan had a deep love for the Green Bay Packers. She was an avid fan and especially enjoyed attending games—creating lasting memories cheering on her favorite team.

Susan’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers who made a meaningful impact during her final days. A special thank you to Alex on 4 Med at Bellin hospital, who recognized the importance of keeping Sami by Susan’s side; to Jordin and Nancy from Hospice, who provided compassionate care and support to both Susan and her family; and to Jennifer Picard, for her unwavering kindness, transportation to appointments, and thoughtful visits over the past year.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held on May 17th at 1:00 p.m., with a luncheon to follow at the Veterans Manor Party Room and Patio, located at 2900 St. Anthony Drive, Green Bay, Wisconsin 54311.

In honor of Susan’s spirit and love for gathering with others, her family invites attendees to join in a Green Bay Packers tailgate-style celebration of life. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Packers gear and come ready to share stories, laughter, and memories.

Susan will be remembered for her love for her family, her strength, and the comfort she found in the simple joys of life—especially those shared with the people and pets she loved most.
