Sylvan "Sy" M. Swiecichowski

Sylvan M. Swiecichowski, age 77, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital.  He was born May 8, 1947 to Stanley and Bernice (Szprejda) Swiecichowski in Hofa Park, WI.  Sy attended Pulaski High School, graduating with the class of 1965. He served in the United States Army from 1967 until 1969. He was married to Charlene Matuszak in 1969 until her passing in 1979.  Sy married Jean Mason on June 14, 1980.  They would have celebrated 45 years together this June.  He was a dedicated papermaker at Fort Howard Paper Company and Georgia Pacific.

Sy enjoyed watching the Brewers, Badgers and the Packers.  He was an avid baseball card collector, loved cars and pizza.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Sy is survived by his wife: Jean; three daughters: Gina (Dean) Wesolowski, Amy (Craig) Maternoski, Nicole (Jason) Behling; one son: Jed Swiecichowski; ten grandchildren: Drew (Desiree) Wesolowski, Cole (Hannah) Wesolowski, Moriah (Tim) Stenlund, CJ Maternoski, Charles Maternoski, Patrick Swiecichowski, Michael Swiecichowski, Lexandra Behling, Katie Behling and Max Behling; 5 great grandchildren: Oliver and Ryker Wesolowski, Arya Wesolowski, Ambrose and Josephine Stenlund; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Leroy (Peggy) Swiecichowski, Ronald (Louise) Swiecichowski; brother and sister-in-law: Jared (Betty) Mason; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones.

Sy was proceeded in death by his parents; his first wife Charlene, one infant daughter Rochelle, sisters Mary and Karen, brother Eugene, mother and father-in-law: Mervin and Ethelyn Mason, mother and father-in-law Harold and Marie Matuszak and brother-in-law Mervin Mason.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Bethany United Methodist Church (1110 Echo Lane, Green Bay). Officiating at the service will be Pastor Robb McClintock and Pastor Jill Connery with entombment of his remains to take place at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday, January 13, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
